No balm in Gilead
- Alerta: Revolution unplugged
This song is a paraphrase of a prayer song from the United States, which speaks about the balm coming from Gilead, about Jesus Christ and Christianity. The lie about God´s existence is to blame for more lives lost than Bolshevism and Nazism together and every day we feel the impacts of its moralism.
Church leaders willingly adjusted the interpretation of religious beliefs to legitimize the authority represented by state power and to recognize Christianity as the state religion of the Roman Empire. It explains to the people the changelessness of the status quo, promising them eternal life after death. The more they suffer now, the better off they will be in heaven. All suffering is God´s will and as such it has to be supported, not faught against. This way Christianity blessed "the rightness" of societ´s power segregation and the untouchability of private property. In every time period this suited the sovereign as a simple way to convince the ruined masses that it is normal that someone lives in comfort while someone else is suffering. The legitimazation of inequality (convinction that inequality is normal, exclusive and part of nature) was the functioning condition of any state social system, both monarchy and modern democracy. Thus, society is divided into a small group of those who have the power and make the decisions and a major group who do not have either.
If they rail against me "you unbelieveing dog", I will respond: "you are dogs when you need a master above you!"
There is no balm in gilead
but a hiearchy in your holyland
the towers of your vatican
equal the wealth of your nations
and the money in your coffers
is a testement to your greed
And father can you show me
how to use this crutch
my belief seems to debilitate my mind
your rituals and rhetoric
keep my actions sedate
and your faith keeps my heart blind
And there is no balm in gilead
but an anthropocentric insane man
who's substandard morals
are subjected on this world
religious inherency
confines the human race
suffering in this world
from the tower of your pulpit
your missionaries rape
and plunder the world
and your goddamn religion is the culprit
